Pretty self-explanatory, today I start my journey of my 8 week Meditation Promise.

Q:Why am I doing this?

A: For my mind. You see, everyone has a limited “I-give-a-fuck” budget. Giving fucks to situations/people/things consumes your energy, state of mind. I want to keep my peace of mind at a supreme priority.

Q:Why do I choose the word “Promise” rather than the preferred millennial term “Challenge”?

A: Strictly Personal Choice. Challenge is not a word, I believe, we should connect if we want to bind a positive energy to anything. For me, “Promise” has more durability than “challenge”. But, read into it as you will.

Q: Why am I posting it on the internet?

A: This is my version of inescapable contractual binding.

#Note to you:

Having made this vow to self, I do seek your(yes you who is reading this) help. This is to the people who have practiced meditation at any point of time in their life, and have bumped into this article:

“Has it happened to you that once we start meditating sometimes we make excuses. Is it even worthwhile to dig why does it happen? Should we accept it as an act of the monkey mind or pursue the deep cause to fix it? What do you do when you are encountered by this? ”

Answers/ help appreciated!

#Success metrics:

Everyone needs a carrot when the race ends, don’t they? So here is how I plan to keep myself motivated:

  1. Getting increased grey matter & brain activity by 8 weeks, in the hippocampus that deals with learning and memory. Research read
  2. Keeping my blood pressure steady.
  3. Aiming towards Healthy Mind by calming my amygdala. To track this, a Periodic journaling of 6 crucial situations where patience is required and being mindful of how did I act during it.

Without further adieu, let the journey begin!
